2014. Soundbrenner began with a simple idea: a wearable, vibrating metronome. Our founders met in Berlin’s startup scene and built the first prototype by salvaging a vibration motor from an old flip phone and hand-soldering it into shape.

2015. We successfully crowdfunded Pulse on Indiegogo, raising over $150,000 in pre-orders, moved to Hong Kong to open our first office at PMQ, and launched The Metronome app on iOS and Android.

2016. After 1.5 years of development, we shipped Pulse worldwide and celebrated reaching 10,000 monthly active users in our growing app community.

2017. Pulse expanded into retail across 40 countries, we launched the Pulse body strap, and our app audience grew to 100,000 monthly active users.

2018. We introduced Core through a highly successful crowdfunding campaign that generated over $200k in the first 24 hours, while our app became the #1 result for “Metronome” on Google Play.

2019. We brought Core to mass production by building our own operating system, secured $1.6M in pre-orders, and grew our app to 500,000 monthly active users.

2020. We shipped more than 20,000 Core units to over 100 countries and launched Soundbrenner Plus to unlock new features and accelerate app development.

2021. We became the exclusive launch partner for Minuendo’s adjustable earplugs and surpassed 100,000 devices shipped since founding.

2022. We expanded the app with practice tracking and a precision tuner, adding powerful new tools to support musicians’ daily progress.

2023. We launched and shipped Core 2 with nine of the ten most requested upgrades and introduced Wave, our first in-ear monitors designed specifically for musicians.

2024. Core 2 gained step tracking with Apple Health and Google Health Connect sync, and we launched the 10,000 hour challenge to help musicians measure progress and stay motivated.

2025. We introduced Spark, a playful practice companion for young musicians, along with practice charts that visualize consistency and help maintain streaks and long-term goals.
