Wave Pro 2 × El Estepario

Let’s talk about
my new in-ears.

I use these behind the kit. They’re my signature Wave Pro 2 with Soundbrenner, the red pair you’ve seen in my videos. Here’s what you get.

What I need behind the kit.

When I’m playing, I need to hear the track over the drums.

I follow the bass to stay in the groove. I listen to the singer to hear where a phrase ends and where I have room for a fill. Whatever I’m doing on the kit, I need to know where I am in the song.

That’s the job I need my in-ears to do.

My signature IEMs

Three things I like about them.

The bass.

I want weight in the bass. With these, I can hear the kick and bass guitar without losing the vocal. That’s what I need behind the kit.
They stay put.

I move around when I play. Once I’ve found the tips that fit, I can get on with it. I don’t want to reach up and fix an earpiece halfway through a song.
The red and the skull.

I like the red finish with my skull on the cable and my name on the earpieces. You can tell whose pair it is.

Wave Pro 2 × El Estepario

What’s different about my pair?

My edition keeps the bass and natural midrange of Wave Pro 2. The tuning around 4–5.5 kHz brings the vocals forward and helps you hear more detail.

Each earpiece has two dynamic drivers and two planar magnetic drivers. Four drivers in each ear.

The red faceplates are aluminum. The Carbon gray and Graphite black versions use zinc.

My take.

El Estepario signature Wave Pro 2 in-ears with the included cable, carrying case, adapter and ear tips

What comes in the box.

You get the in-ears, a detachable 3.5 mm cable, a carrying case, a 1/4-inch adapter and nine pairs of ear tips. The adapter fits the headphone sockets on studio gear.

If the cable wears out, I can replace it and keep the earpieces.

For USB-C, there’s a matching Hi-Fi connector with a built-in DAC. It replaces the 3.5 mm plug and is sold separately.

I need them to stay put.

When yours arrive, take a few minutes to find the tips that fit. The pair fitted in the box might not be the one for you.

You get Liquid Pro, foam and double-flange tips, each in three sizes. The seal affects the bass. I want a pair that stays in place and lets me concentrate on playing.
